FC 24 Vs FIFA 23 – Which Is Better?

FC 24 Vs FIFA 23

Almost everyone who is in love with football and has owned a computer has tried out at least a couple of FIFA games throughout the years. Over the past three decades, EA Sports has sold over 325 million copies of its games worldwide, which is a staggering number, to say the least.

Of course, some games have been more successful than others, but what can we expect with the latest EA Sports FC 24? Is it better than FIFA 23? Let’s take a closer look!

Why The Sudden Change of Names?

The first obvious difference that everyone has instantly noticed is the change of names. FC 24 and FIFA 23 differ in their names, but how did that happen exactly?

Well, due to some big disagreements over the license fees, FIFA and EA ended their long-term collaboration for this matter. As the 20-year-old cooperation came to an end, EA Sports simply decided to go with the name FC 24.

The Cover Star

Moving on, we have another difference that you have surely noticed – for the first time in three years, Kylian Mbappe does not appear on the FC 24 cover.

Erling Haaland has taken over the reigns, and it should not be a surprise given his stunning debut season in Manchester City. He has undoubtedly been the best young striker in the world over the past year – winning the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League!

Graphics

FIFA 23 was the first game that introduced the HyperMotion 2 technology, so it undoubtedly raised the bar for the next titles. That game looked incredibly realistic, but FC 24 seems to have gone a step further! FC 24 uses volumetric data from 180+ real matches and the HyperMotion V technology, so the gaming experience is even more realistic. In addition, FC 24 takes full advantage of AI and scans that reflect every detail of a player’s anatomy.

Gameplay Mechanics

As you would expect, FC 24 improves ball physics, with the gameplay pace now being a bit slower. In addition, thanks to the AcceleRATE 2.0 technology, shorter players accelerate a bit faster at the start and slow down a bit later, and the opposite goes for taller players!

Female Players

We are happy to see that FC 24 has put so much effort into building its female players and women’s tournaments. No other game has paid so much attention to that, and FC 24 introduces several women’s leagues:

  • Barclays Women’s Super League
  • Women’s National Football League
  • D1 Arkema
  • Liga F
  • Google Pixel Frauen Bundesliga

This has paved the way for punters to even place bets on e-sports tournaments, and if you are one of the betting enthusiasts, feel free to check out our recommended football betting websites!

Game Modes

FC 24 has the same modes as FIFA 23, but there are some big upgrades. Most notably, Pro Club has a better promotion system, and Ultimate Team has female players now. Another big change is in the Career Mode, which is now divided into Manager and Player Career. Managers can complete tactical concepts and hire coaches to help them out with players adopting different PlayStyles and getting help from an agent.

Commentary

The new commentary star in FC 24 is Guy Mowbray, which you surely know if you follow BBC’s Match of the Day. Helping him is Sue Smith, so we see this is quite a nice upgrade!

Online Experience

The last big difference that we would like to point out is that FC 24 has introduced cross-play for PC, PlayStation and Xbox users. However, note that cross-play is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with owners of older consoles being able to play with each other only!

Verdict – Big Upgrades Await You

Well, technology never stops developing and we can now safely say that FC 24 is a far better game than its counterpart. There are tons of visible improvements that will justify you acquiring FC 24 and enjoying it with your friends! It is quite unfortunate to see FIFA and EA Sports end their long-term cooperation, but FC 24 surely hasn’t disappointed, despite all the doubts early on!
