Shooting Speed, Strength and Reaction
Holding the shot buttons controls the speed and strength of your shots. The longer you hold the button, the more strength you are going to put on the ball. The quicker you press the shot button, the shorter reaction time your player will take to kick the ball. The more power you give to the ball, the higher it flies in the air.
Nope. That’s how it should work. In FC24 shooting is weirder than that.
I have pretty much mastered shooting from FIFA20 onwards (PS4). The hold shoot for power/ elevation, L for direction and R for curl worked beautifully. Now it doesn’t. I frequently find my striker refusing to shoot whether the button is tapped or held-and-released. But sometimes he will. The direction is also much less predictable than it was. Sometimes, my player will do a lovely skill move around the defender that I didn’t ask for instead of shooting. I’ve dropped two skill levels to be able to play. If anyone has figured out a rhyme and reason to all this then I would be grateful to hear it!
