‘Preben Elkjaer Larsen’ is to my knowledge, the Dane who have scored most Ballon d’Or points in total (141) (once he became the second best player- just after Platini). In the 1980’s he got in the Ballon d’Or ‘top 4’ three times Also he was Verona best striker when they won the Italian championship. Actually Verona was so happy for him, they made a statue of him and have given him a honorary citizenship. As a fun fact, he became legendary in Italy when he scored bootless against Juventus. According to Wikipedia Preben Elkjaer played 190 matches for KSC Lokeren and scored 112 goals. He played 130 matches for Hellas Verona and scored 75 goals. He played 69 national team matches and scored 38 goals for the national team. He ended his career in Denmark, where he suffered from injuries.
